Engineer, procure, construct — on one plan

EPC and engineering firms deliver a plant or a capital-equipment package, not a catalogue. Fast Project Management runs each package as a project: a WBS across engineering, procurement and construction with dependencies, a Bill of Resources costed against budget, project purchase requisitions for long-lead items, and milestone / RA billing to the client.

Why EPC & engineering firms choose Fast Project Management

The problems every EPC package
and plant build recognises

Engineering, procurement and construction don't line up

Design runs in one file, procurement in a second, site in a third. A slipped drawing quietly delays a long-lead order, and nobody sees the knock-on to erection until the crane is already booked.

The package bleeds against budget, unseen

A capital package is estimated once and never tracked. Bought-out equipment, bulk material and site labour drift above the estimate, and the overrun only surfaces at final reconciliation.

Procurement isn't tied to the plan

Purchase requisitions are raised off memory, not the WBS. Long-lead items are ordered late, material arrives against the wrong stage, and site waits for something engineering closed weeks ago.

RA and milestone claims are a monthly scramble

Client billing is tied to milestones and running-account stages, but without task-keyed, resource-itemised bills each RA claim — and each subcontractor's bill against its PO — is stitched together by hand.

How Fast Project Management fixes each one
One WBS across E, P and CThe package is a project broken into engineering, procurement and construction tasks with predecessor dependencies on a Gantt — so a slipped drawing shifts the long-lead order and erection with it, in plain sight.
Costed against budget, continuouslyEach task carries a material/labour/machine BOR priced from the Resource master; cost estimation rolls it up and compares to budget, and consumption keeps the actual current — overrun is visible early.
Procurement raised from the planA project purchase requisition is raised against the package for equipment, bulk material and long-lead items, and material is issued from stock against the task that needs it — procurement follows the WBS.
Milestone and RA bills, task-keyedRaise resource-itemised RA and milestone bills for a defined stage — mobilisation, equipment-delivered, erection, commissioning — and pass each subcontractor's bill against its PO.
Package-to-handover lifecycle

From award to commissioning —
one package, one traceable trail

Every EPC and engineering package follows the same controlled path, whatever it is built to deliver — so the plant runs on a WBS and a Bill of Resources, not on three disconnected spreadsheets.

Fast Project Management gives EPC and engineering teams the package control they keep trying to build across disconnected files — with the costing, procurement and RA billing built in.

01 — Package as a project & WBS

Engineer, procure, construct — one work breakdown

Open the awarded package as a project with its own client, type, dates and budget, then break it into a work breakdown spanning the phases — basic and detailed design, long-lead procurement, civil, mechanical erection, piping, electrical, commissioning. Each task carries an owner, an assigned user, a priority, a progress % and predecessor dependencies, so the E-P-C phases are sequenced rather than assumed.

02 — Gantt & the critical path

A slipped drawing shifts the whole plan

Open the package's Gantt Chart and every task appears as a bar by its start, finish and duration, with predecessor links showing the critical path across engineering, procurement and construction. Slip a drawing and the downstream long-lead order and erection bars move with it, so the knock-on is in plain sight. A resource-wise Project Gantt shows the same plan by crew and equipment, and each task keeps its logs and attachments — GA drawings, datasheets, approvals.

03 — Bill of Resources vs budget

Cost the package — and watch the budget

Every task gets a three-level Bill of Resources: a header, the process or parameters, and the material, labour and machine lines priced from the Resource master with quantity and rate. Cost estimation rolls the whole package up to an estimated cost and the BOR cost analysis breaks it down by resource — both comparable against the budget on the project and task headers, and kept honest by actual consumption as procurement and construction proceed.

04 — Project procurement & issue

Procurement driven from the WBS

Raise a project purchase requisition against the package for bought-out equipment, bulk material and long-lead items, and issue material from stock against the task that needs it through the shared store and procurement engine. Because the requisition and the issue are keyed to tasks, procurement follows the plan — long-lead items are ordered on time, material arrives against the right stage, and consumption becomes the package's real actual cost in the project MIS.

05 — Milestone & RA billing

Bill the client by stage, tied to the plan

Raise a project bill against the package and client with resource-itemised lines keyed to tasks — so you bill by milestone or running-account stage: mobilisation, engineering-complete, equipment-delivered, erection, commissioning. Subcontractor and supplier bills for civil, erection or fabrication packages are passed and cleared against their purchase order, and every bill prints as a document. Ask Dhruv AI which packages are over budget, in plain English.

FAQ

EPC & engineering projects —
what project managers ask us

Can I plan an EPC package as a WBS?

Yes. The package is a project broken into engineering, procurement and construction tasks with owners, priorities, progress % and predecessor dependencies that sequence the phases.

How does costing against budget work?

Every task carries a material/labour/machine BOR priced from the Resource master; cost estimation rolls the package up and BOR cost breaks it by resource, both against budget.

Can procurement be driven from the project?

Yes. A project purchase requisition is raised against the package for equipment and long-lead items, and material is issued from stock against the task that needs it.

How do milestone and RA bills work?

Project billing raises resource-itemised bills keyed to tasks, so you bill by milestone or running-account stage, with subcontractor bill passing against PO.

Can I see schedule and cost status?

Yes. Progress % rolls up to the package, a Gantt shows the critical path, and the project MIS reports estimated vs actual cost, progress and schedule — with Dhruv AI on top.

Is it cloud or on-premise?

Both. Fast Project Management runs cloud and on-premise for EPC and engineering and capital-equipment builders alongside ETO, fabrication and construction teams across India and worldwide.
