Fast Project Management Software is a Fast Technology product, built in Pune (Nigdi) by Improsys — a company whose name is short for "improvement in systems". We build the 12-product Fast Suite on one shared platform, and Fast Project Management is its project profile: the modules that turn a build-to-order job into a work breakdown structure, schedule it on a Gantt, resource it with a Bill of Resources and bill it by milestone.
Improsys started the way most useful enterprise software starts — by watching a real problem happen inside a real business, and deciding it shouldn't be that hard.
The name is the mission statement: Improsys — improvement in systems. Long before there was a "Fast Suite", there was consulting work with SME manufacturers and engineering firms around Pune: mapping how a bespoke order became a plan, how a plan became a schedule, how a task consumed material, labour and machine time — and how often those chains broke in a spreadsheet, a site diary, or somebody's memory. The software grew out of the process work, not the other way round. That's why every Fast product starts with your process map and a gap analysis, not a feature checklist.
Out of that consulting practice came a single, long-lived business platform — and out of the platform came the 12-product Fast Suite: Fast ERP, Fast CRM, Fast Quality, Fast Complaint, Fast Billing, Fast WMS, Fast Inventory, Fast Production, Fast Planning, Fast Maintenance, Fast Audit, and Fast Project Management. They aren't twelve separate codebases bolted together; they are one ASP.NET and SQL Server platform with different module clusters switched on. Buy one product and it runs standalone. Add a second later and they already share the same Resource, Item, customer and user masters — no duplicate data entry, no integration project.
Fast Project Management carries that philosophy onto build-to-order work. It is the project and ETO-execution profile of the platform — the modules that create a project, break it into a work breakdown structure of tasks with predecessor dependencies, lay those tasks out on a Gantt, attach a per-task Bill of Resources priced from the shared Resource master, estimate cost against budget, track progress with task logs and file attachments, issue stock against a task through the same store engine, and bill by project, resource or milestone. Its primary reference deployments at Micro India and DVC Process — manufacturing companies running project and ETO work — run those modules as one connected workflow, because that's the point: software should carry the job from estimate to milestone bill, not just draw a Gantt.
Today the whole suite is built and supported from one base in Nigdi, Pune — by the same team that answers your support calls. Under the Fast Technology brand, we serve engineer-to-order and custom manufacturers, fabrication, EPC and construction teams across India and worldwide, cloud or on-premise, and we still measure ourselves the way a consultancy does: by whether the customer's system actually improved.
These aren't framed posters on a wall — they're the questions we ask before any feature goes into a Fast product.
Every implementation starts by mapping how work actually flows — how a project is estimated, who owns each task, where material is issued, how a milestone is billed — followed by a gap analysis. Then the software is configured to fit the process. Requirements are captured in an SRS and signed off before anything is built.
A project system that can't compare estimated cost to budget and turn progress into a bill is only half the job. Fast Project Management prices every task's Bill of Resources from the shared Resource master, rolls it up against budget, and raises resource-itemised project, milestone and RA bills — so what you planned, what it cost and what you invoiced sit on the same records.
If a resource, item, customer or user is entered once, it should never be typed again in another module. All 12 Fast products share one data backbone — a task Bill of Resources, a store issue against a task and a project bill sit on the same records the inventory and billing modules use.
Whether it's a single-project fabrication shop or a multi-project EPC firm, these are the fixed points of every Fast implementation.
Information security and quality management standards we hold ourselves to.
Every Fast product runs standalone and shares the same data backbone when combined. These are the suite products a project business most often runs alongside Fast Project Management.
